About APAIT
Access to Prevention, Advocacy, Intervention & Treatment (APAIT), a Division of Special Service for Groups (SSG), was founded in 1987 as a grassroots AIDS service organization (ASO) for Asians and Pacific Islanders (APIs) who were dying alone from AIDS-related stigma and shame. We have since expanded to serve vulnerable, diverse, multi-ethnic communities of Los Angeles and Orange counties, holding a distinctive record of providing high-quality and culturally competent programming.
Mission
APAIT’s mission is to positively impact the quality of life for vulnerable communities experiencing behavioral health challenges, housing insecurity, justice-involved, and at-risk for HIV/AIDS and sexual health issues.
Vision
To advocate, educate, and achieve optimal health and well-being for vulnerable individuals- including, those at risk for HIV/STIs, immigrants and refugees, people experiencing homelessness, individuals with behavioral health challenges, and LGBTQIA-2S communities
